Honor Guard

About

The Honor Guard represents the Department, its officers and families at law enforcement funerals, parades and other ceremonial occasions – both solemn and festive. It is dedicated to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with members of the public safety community during times of celebration and emotional duress.

Officers who serve on the Tustin PD Honor Guard do so as a collateral assignment on top of their regular duties.

Black bands known as mourning bands are worn straight across the center of the badge to honor an officer who has been killed in the line of duty. Mourning bands should be worn by officers while attending police funerals, upon the line-of-duty death in your department, or upon the line-of-duty death of a law enforcement officer from a neighboring jurisdiction.
