Crime Scene Investigation (CSI)

The Crime Scene Investigations Unit is responsible for the collection, preservation, packaging, transportation, and documentation of physical evidence left at crime scenes. Crime Scene personnel are trained in specialized photography and the use of chemical reagents and use alternate light sources to locate hard-to-find items. Examples of physical evidence our investigators collect include:

  • body fluids
  • hair and trace evidence
  • gunshot residue
  • weapons
  • bullet casings
  • bullet fragments
